  PERNAMBUCO

A magic, friendly and seductive place. Such is way Pernambuco, with beautiful beaches of lukewarm waters, rivers that sing poems, the green full of fantasies and their easy-going and welcoming inhabitants. One of the Brazilian oldest and more important States, Pernambuco is a historical-cultural refuge whose cities compose an authentic museum, with old big houses, churches, and the wide variety of arts that the town inherited from its ancestors.
Recife, which is the capital, is located on the coast of the State and possesses an excellent chain of hotels. Oscillating between the old and the modern, the craft and the technology, Recife offers a range of entertainment options. In "Boa Viagem" beach the visitor can relax in natural pools formed by the reefs. Then, the tourist can try out both the specialities or the international kitchen: Recife is the third biggest gastronomic centre of the country. We have an exciting night full of fashionable pubs and night clubs. "Olinda" is very near to Recife: Cultural patrimony of the Humanity. Olinda has historical origin, a city whose both gentle and steep slopes unfold the beauty of its history and secular big houses and churches. In Olinda takes place the best carnival in streets of the world and there the culture and the folklore typical of Pernambuco are consolidated and linked by its craftsmen, artists and rhythms such as, "maracatu", "frevo", "ciranda" and "caboclinhos". The visitor that comes to Pernambuco is also enchanted by the beaches on the south coast, such as "Porto de Galinhas" and "Tamandaré" not to mention the paradisiac "Calhetas", "Muro Alto" and "Serrambi". Or still those of the north coast, formed by the beaches of "Pau Amarelo", "María Farinha" and "Itamaracá" island. And for those that prefer being away from the city or a milder climate, Pernambuco offers options in the countryside, cities such as "Gravatá", "Caruaru" and "Garanhuns", to name but a few. In Caruaru, city that has formed, in fact, a school of "masters of ceramic", it is held the São João (Saint John’s) biggest festival in the world that enabled the city to receive the title of Capital of the "Forró", which is a typical kind of music and dance. For so many arguments and options, Pernambuco is the place that appreciates the colors, the history and the wealth of the nature. Come to have fun in this paradise.
