Four hundred kilometres of coast and gentle
breezes, with the advantage of enjoying a beach that can be adapted to your
pleasure. That is the main quality which will conquer your heart and make you
desire to go to Espírito Santo. The beaches of the south are very rich in rocky
cliffs and blue and crystalline waters.

Towards the north we have bigger
extensions, open sea and lukewarm waters. The approaching of the coast with the
mountainous region is another feature of the State. In not more than thirty
minutes you can find the agreeable European climate, the fresh air, the
tranquillity and the green of the mountains, with a huge variety of orchids and
hummingbirds. The Espírito Santo main advantage is its border with the States
of the South of Brazil, being close to the State of Rio of Janeiro. The capital
is Vitória, built between the sea and the mountains, has become modern without
losing its hospitality as an island. The capital gathers chapels and churches as
part of its memory, and the sea coast attracts oceanic fishermen from all over
the place, interested in its noble fish, mainly the "Marlin Azul".
From Vitória, it is only necessary to cross a bridge to arrive in the continent
and to contemplate Vila Velha, where the colonization of the State began. The
main tourist center of the State is Guarapari, a beach of blue sea full of
cuttings that makes for its reduced dimensions. Besides the beaches, Espírito
Santo conserves the biggest area of the Atlantic Forest, with forest
reservations that have rare species of the Brazilian flora and fauna. The
scenario of the forest matches the beauties of streams and a range of
waterfalls. The biggest reservations are in the north of the State and the
Atlantic Forest covers great part of the mountainous region. To end this
Espírito Santo brief presentation, it is necessary to stand out that the State
conserves typical folkloric manifestations that come from its different nations
that compose the history of the State and that they have its roots in the alive
tradition of the " reisados ", of the " ticumbi " and of the
" alardo "(typical folk music and dance). The typical German, Italian
and Pomeranian music and dance, are found in the mountains. If you come to
Brazil, don’t miss the wonderful experience of visiting Espírito Santo. The
state will receive you with great pleasure.
