Alagoas is an area of outstanding natural beauty
among coconut trees, swamps and the sea, where countless lagoons give to the
State an all special aspect. |
For this reason the name Alagoas: one of the most
magnificent areas in the Brazilian Northeast. It has 230 km of paradisiac,
adorned beaches with many coconut trees, lukewarm waters during the whole year,
green or sometimes very blue coloration and the famous natural pools formed by
reefs of corals. For all this, our beaches were chosen the most beautiful in
Brazil. Among others, "Francês" beach is stood out, but we also have
"Barra de São Miguel", "Praia do Gunga", "Jequiá da
Praia" and "Pituba", located on the south coast, and the beaches
of "Maragogi", "Japaratinga", "Ilha da Croa" and
"Sonho Verde", on the north coast. The "Río São Francisco"
(the most important river in the northeast) is another paradise in whose waters
pass local types of floats and sailing boats. The Lake of Xingó and its "
canyon ", in Piranhas, leads to the historical city of Penedo until the
mouth of the river São Francisco, where one can see landscapes of strange
beauty. We have the biggest continuous area of Atlantic Forest in the Northeast,
in the city of "Murici". The National Park of "Zumbi", in
"Serra da Barriga" is an alive mark of the black resistance for
freedom. Alagoas offers an exquisite kitchen based on mouth-watering seafood.
The craft in Alagoas also stands out for its beauty and wide variety. The works
in " reins " and " embroideries " and in "ouricuri"
straw, wood and ceramic are the main ones. The folk festivals happen during the
whole year according to their period. Maceió, the capital of Alagoas, is one of
the most significant tourist centers in Brazil, having excellent chain of
hotels, in a strip that unites the beaches of "Pajuçara", "Ponta
Verde" and "Jatiúca". The tranquility, the security and the
hospitality of the city fascinate every single visitor. Pubs with live music,
restaurants, night clubs and houses of shows offer amusement and good
entertainment. To visit Alagoas is to be able to enjoy the sun the whole year,
the night breeze of the sea and the sky full of stars. With so many charms, you
will certainly love Alagoas.
